Spirit Week Update (Slide Show)

The Class of 2017 stole first place on the first day of spirit week, Merica Monday.

Seniors won first place with an 84 percent showing, followed by the Juniors with 73 percent, sophomores with 68 percent, and Freshman lingering closely with a total of 66 percent showing.

“I feel super excited that our class won first place today and I’m glad to see that our class has finally come together for these spirit weeks over the years,” says senior Nate Feliciano.

The juniors taking second place was a surprise to many, seeing as they didn’t have very good showings last year.

“I’m pretty pleased with placing in second place today,” says Junior Anthony Syrek, “It was a nice change not being in last place again and hopefully we keep it up and can maybe get first at least once this week.”

Freshman were able to experience their first of many spirit weeks.

“To be honest, I think the Freshman could have done better instead of coming in last place,” says Freshman Kobe Dias, “Hopefully we can do better this week.”

Today at LHS students were seeing double throughout the halls for today’s theme “Twin Tuesday.”

Once again class of 2017 took first place with a 69 percent showing.The juniors came in second place with a showing of 59 percent. The sophomores took third with a 54 percent showing and the freshman fell far behind with only a 34 percent showing.

Senior Christian Almeida who is a real twin says, “I told my sister I would not twin with her. It was unique to twin with someone else for a change.”

Today was only the second day of spirit week. Tomorrow students are expected to show off their class colors, Thursday is Tie Dye day, and the week will end with maroon and white day.
