Girls tennis begins

Girls+tennis+begins

The girls tennis season starts on March 16th.

Unfortunately, they lost four graduated seniors Katie Jordan, Jocelyn Minnie, and Lauren Papianou.

Last year, they finished with a record of 12-8.

The returners are seniors Zoe Vital, Kelsey Jordan, Mairead O’Sullivan; juniors Jen Salio and Emma Gomes; sophomores Marisa Lombardi, Filipa Martins, Maddie Hague, Mariana Goncalves, Kayla Santos, Sam Evans, and Julia Rouillard.

It is not certain how many freshman will be joining the team.

“I feel like this tennis season is going to be good,” says senior Kelsey Jordan, “We lost a lot of good players but I think we will be good.”

The girls goal for this season is to win most, if not all of their matches.

Their biggest competitor is Amherst, they are nervous about it but they are hoping to pull through with a good outcome.

“It is always a tough match when we play Amherst,” says sophomore Filipa Martins, “But I am looking forward to it and I think that we have a chance of winning.”
