The boys varsity volleyball team lost to the number-one seeded team Agawam, 3-0, on June 3 in the finals for the Western Mass title held at Holyoke Community College.

Seniors Chris Barbeau had 11 kills, Curtis Pereira had five kills, Luis Quiterio had 10 kills, and Cody Dias had 32 assists, while junior Sean Fournier added seven kills.

“I was ecstatic! It was the first time I ever had the opportunity to play for the Western Mass title. After the game I was very disappointed in losing, especially knowing I am part of a strong team. Unfortunately some of our key players were sick or injured,” said Barbeau.

On May 28, the boys varsity volleyball team had its first playoff game against East Longmeadow.

The game went into four sets and Ludlow defeated East Longmeadow 3-1. With this, Ludlow now advanced to the semifinals continuing their run to “win Western Mass,” said Glanville.

In the semifinals, Ludlow faced Westfield on Thursday, May 30 and they won 3-0. The volleyball team was now on their way to the finals.

“I wish the best of luck to next years team,” said Barbeau.
