LHS looking for new cheerleaders

Ludlow varsity cheerleading coaches will be hosting competition tryouts for the Ludlow High School competition season on Nov. 18,19, and 20, and will take place in the back gym from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

“Ludlow cheerleaders are respected. They are three time defending Western Mass champions,” says cheerleading coach Kelsey Danitis, “We compete at state level.”

There is only room for up to 20 girls on the team, but coaches are hoping for more than 20 girls to try out to also request for a Junior Varsity team, which will compete at JV competitions, as a secondary Ludlow team.

“We’ll be learning a new dance, going over jumps, stunting and doing tumbling,” says senior cheerleading captain Emelie Kalesnik

Danitis, along with Coach Jackie Vivier, are looking to find former cheerleaders to help them judge the girls, but Danitis and Vivier make the final choices.
