With Stranger Things season 5 coming out, many people began to come up with their own ideas on what might happen. Here’s what you all said:

“Who do you think will die out of the entire cast?”

The standouts for this question were Steve and Vecna, with seven and eight votes out of ten, respectively. Will, Eleven and Max followed close behind. Will got five votes, while Max and Eleven got four.

(Participants were given the opportunity to choose multiple characters on this question, so that’s why the votes add up to more than ten.)

“Who out of the original four do you think will die?”

For the question about the original four, Will won by a landslide. 60% of people voted that Will would die. Both Lucas and Dustin were on the chart as well, both with 20%. However, no votes for the likelihood of Mike’s death were recorded.

“Who is definitely safe out of the entire cast? (who will not die?)”

Dustin won for least likely to die, earning seven out of ten votes. Mike, Lucas, Hopper, and Karen all tied for second with six votes. Joyce and Robin followed close behind with five and four votes, respectively.

“Who do you hope dies? And why?”

A large chunk of the respondents hoped that Vecna would die. Here are their reasons: 

Senior Emilia Alves responded, “Vecna, I feel like that is the only way to properly end the series.”

As well as Junior Alp Turk who emphasized, “Vecna. He’s a great villain, but I feel like if he doesn’t die, then the show has no purpose.”

However, there were some answers that stood out from the rest.

An unpredicted answer from Junior Eliana Franco mentioned Ted Wheeler, and how he should die because he “is pointless and doesn’t care about his family.”

As well as a shocking response from Junior Selena Yusuf who wrote, “I hope Will or Eleven dies…Will’s been through so much… I won’t be angry if [Eleven] dies with Vecna.”

“Who do you hope lives? And why?”

When asked about who they hoped would live, most people answered either Dustin, Steve, or both. And you can’t blame them—they’re two of the most lovable characters in the series!

Besides those two, Eliana Franco hoped that Hopper would live, because he is her “favorite character, and they can’t try to kill him off again.”

One unexpected response came from a student who thought that Vecna should live. She said, “I hope Vecna lives and becomes a good person. I also hope at least 3 of the original four live and defeat Vecna or make Vecna good.”

“Plot predictions?”

As the predictions rolled in, there was a noticeable difference between the plot predictions. Here’s what they said:

Emilia Alves explained her predictions, “Will is going to be used by Vecna, Eleven is going to sacrifice herself to end what she started” as well as “Hopper and Joyce will be getting married.”

Others mentioned that something tragic will happen to Holly while Eddie comes back to life. Eliana Franco referred back to season two where Eleven met her sister, Number 8, and how she will make a comeback and help Eleven defeat Vecna.

“Who will sacrifice themself for someone else?”

Despite the fact that most people wanted Steve to live, most also responded that he would sacrifice himself for the kids and Nancy.

Many also responded that Will or Eleven will sacrifice themselves, mostly for Mike, but for the whole cast too.

Many people also responded that Hopper would sacrifice himself for Joyce, however one studded that it might be Joyce, “because Hopper already had a fake death, and Joyce plays a big role.”

Regardless of people’s predictions or favorite characters, I think we can all say that we’re excited for the final season of Stranger Things!
