LHS is holding its 6th consecutive Powder Puff game on Sept. 18. Powder Puff is a all-girl charity football game..

The freshman will face the sophomores at 6:30 p.m. and the juniors will face the seniors at 7:30 p.m. There will be a four way tug-of-war in between the two games.

The cost for players is $30 if they need a jersey and $5 if they already own a jersey. The cost for spectators is $5, but if one has a pair gently used shoes to donate then the cost will lower to $3. The proceeds will go to buying prizes for spirit week.

“I expect us to win this year,” said senior Giavanna Colaccino, “I’ve participated since sophomore year and it’s so much fun.”

The coaches for the freshman team are Chris Rea. The sophomore coaches are Diana Sands, Kerry Valentine, and Donna Roy. The coach for the juniors is Evan Walkwitz. Lastly, the senior coaches will be Brian Walsh. The referees will be school committee members Chip Harrington and Chad Mullins. The announcer will be Marty Fanning.

“It is fun and a great way to get to know members of your class,” said Lions Pride President Jennifer Ollquist, “It creates healthy competition and school spirit.”
