Best Friends

“‘Best friends’ isn’t about who you’ve known the longest, it’s about who came into your life, said ‘I’m here for you’, and proved it.” (Unknown)

We all have that one friend that we can tell everything to, the one that we can be ourselves around. The one we don’t hide anything from. Your best friend.

Where would we be without best friends?

We all need someone that we can open up to. For me, it’s my best friend Kayla, who I’ve been friends with for over eleven years now. However, as I said before, a best friend isn’t who you’ve known the longest, it’s about who’s always been there for you, through thick and thin.

She’s always been there for me. We’ve had our rough patches in the past, but that was the past, now we don’t even deal with the drama that could possibly ruin our friendship like it almost did a long time ago.

There have been some times for me that have been so hard for me to handle that I’m not even sure I would have made it this far without her. From my grandfather’s passing, to my first feel break up, she’s always been like a sister to me.

Some people have trouble with friends in life. Whether it’s finding the right friends to keep, realizing the one’s that aren’t worth it, and finding that best friend forever, friends are one of the most important parts of our lives.

How should you pick your friends?

When picking a friend, you always want to make sure that he or she is are worthy of your time. If someone doesn’t want to be in your life, then don’t force it! There’s so much more people out there who are way better for you than those people will ever be.

There are people who are going to be there for you, and there are going to be people who aren’t. Hold on to the people who care about you and, as Dinah M. Craik once said, “keep what is worth keeping, and, with the breath of kindness, blow the rest away.”

What happens when your best friend is of the opposite sex?

Everyone knows that a boy and a girl can never be just friends, unless of course, there is no physical attraction, which is extremely rare. To have a best friend is to love, and to love deeply.

If your best friend happens to be of the opposite sex, and you could see yourself in the future with them, don’t ever let them go.

If there is even the slightest chance that you could spend the rest of your life with your best friend, then they are your soul mate, and you should never let them leave your life.

What if you and your best friend are in a fight?

Everybody goes through rough patches, you just have to get through them. If that person really does mean the world to you, don’t hold grudges against them. If you really do love them, then they are going to be in your life forever, no matter what you two go through.

How do you make friends?

Always remember to be yourself. A true friend doesn’t care what you look like, how you act, and what you want to do with your life. They just care that you are you. Always remember to pick and choose wisely. There are people who will be your friend forever, and there will be people who aren’t worth wasting your time on.

Be yourself. Keep your friends close to you, especially the ones who matter the most. Don’t let people into your life that don’t belong there. Live long and happily with the people you care for, and the people who care about you. Make some new friends and forget about the past. Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll truly have a Best Friend Forever.
