Sylwia Lipior makes Super Seven

Sylwia+Lipior+makes+Super+Seven

Ludlow High School’s very own Sylwia Lipior has been named by the MIAA as part of the elite Super Seven for the Girl’s Cross Country 2013 season. With a personal best of 20:47 and an impressive time of 22:14 at Western Mass’s Northfield Mountain, it’s obvious she is perfectly deserving of the Super Seven title.

“I feel very honored to be Super Seven because there are so many amazing runners in the area and I can’t believe that I can be among the best,” says Lipior. Determination and commitment to her running schedule is what she credits her ability to. “When I start something, I stick to it. I never miss days of training. That’s how you get better in this sport.”

Sylwia is not only confident in herself, but her team as well. “I am very excited for this season. I trained hard all summer and hope to be in the top 10 at Western Mass. The team has made outstanding improvements over the summer. We have a hardworking group of girls and I hope to make it to States as a team.”

“My coaches and friends motivate me to do my best everyday and I wouldn’t be where I am today without their support,” says Lipior. “It’s hard to manage everything and sometimes I only get four hours of sleep, but the best part of my day is going to practice.”

“Running is my passion,” says Sylwia. She has high hopes of attending Trinity College next year and continuing to run Cross Country there. With her reputation and dedication to the sport is it easy to believe that she will make it.

About the Contributor
Jocelyn Minie, Editorial Editor
Most of the time you can easily find Jocelyn Minie running with the girls Cross Country, laughing with her group of friends, or simply with her nose in a good book. A natural introvert, this girl comes off shy but can warm up to people easily. Half the time when she opens her mouth, sarcasm is spewing out. She fits the image of the stereotypical girl loving all things fashion, makeup, and Starbucks while still obtaining a fear of spiders. The other half of her is pure nerd always finding the time to read, cry over an episode of Friday Night Lights, have a cup of tea, and laugh at The Big Bang Theory. While she doesn’t know exactly where she is headed, college is on the way. Busy with all of her senior classes and tying up the loose ends who knows where she will end up. You’ll just have to wait and see.
