Spirit Week kicks off at LHS

The fall spirit week will kick off on October 16 at Ludlow High School. Spirit week consists of a different dress up day for each class. Each class will go head-to-head to see who has the most spirit.

The week starts off with ‘Merica Monday. All classes will be expected to dress in red, white, and blue. It will be followed by flannel Tuesday. Students are expected to show up in their best flannel.

“On Wednesdays we wear pink” is in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Thursday is class color wars. Class of 2018 wears blue, 2019 wears red, 2020 wears green, and 2021 wears purple. This day also consists of the powder puff game starting at 6:00 with freshman vs. sophomores and at 7:00 juniors vs. seniors. Each student wanting to watch their class will have to pay $5.00. In between games there will also be a four way class tug of war.

Friday will be Maroon Madness. Show your school spirit by showing up in maroon and white.

Lions pride advisor Jennifer Ollquist loves to see students get excited for the three spirit weeks we have.

“Students are already planning outsides and we are waiting for their flag leggings or class t-shirts to arrive.” She says the best part of being a Lions Pride advisor is seeing the students smile and have fun with the events and days.

Ollquist says that they get the inspiration from pinterest and other schools. “We sit down with our committee or poll our students to see what they would like to to do for the days and events throughout the school year.”

Senior Kellie Salmond says, “seniors are going to crush it.”

Some juniors disagree. Junior Anna Belculfine says “I hope our class comes together to participate.”

Sophomore Justin Dutton says he expects to see people participating and help the class out to get a win. For the freshman this is their first spirit week, Makaia Giza is hopeful for her class to participate and pull out a win.
