The do’s and don’ts of this year’s fall fashion season

Take out your jean jackets, sweaters, and scarves. Finally fall is upon us and people are starting to dress for the season.

From heads adorned with knit beanies to toes ensconced in comfy Bear Paws, nothing beats it. There are a lot of hot trends out this season that I am so excited to share with you.

Sheer blouses? Yes, You heard right. From turquoise to white to dark blues, they seem to top the charts this season. Try pairing a cardigan with your sheer blouse or other top.

Scarves are a huge hit and will make your outfit pop. Look for cool colors like blue, purple, and green, as well as floral and leopard prints.

Think you can’t wear a dress this season? Wrong. Many people are wearing cute patterned dresses with a cardigan or jean jacket to give them an edgy look. Pairing up cowboy boots with dresses is a fun way to mix it up.

No matter what season it is, you always want to add a dash of color to your wardrobe. Having turquoise on a jacket with a flowing dress always livens the fall look. If you go for black tights and light socks, the outfit stands out and makes a statement.

While not my style, colored skinnies are the new trend. From the pinks, blues, turquoise, yellow — you name it. During the fall most people don’t just want neutral-colored jeans. Adding color is popular this season. Studded flats look cute with colored skinnies, and also seem to be a huge trend.

And don’t be afraid of studs. Whether on your shoes, jeans or purses, studs keep your outfit looking edgy and sophisticated.

Flannel is always a huge hit in the fall; it gives you a cozy look and adds color. It is a very laid-back outfit. You can pair it up with a sweater to make it stand out even more and make it more comfortable.

High-waisted denim jeans make a very cute outfit when paired with a tight top and scarf. Try pairing the outfit up with a cute necklace.

“I like the high-waisted denim jeans with a regular laid back T-shirt and plaid scarf. Sometimes I would wear leggings with it to look cute,” says junior Allison Roy.

Whether you’re going to school, staying at home, or hanging out with friends, you can never go wrong with a utility jacket, scarf, and knee-high boots. You can take the jacket off and still sport a very nice outfit. Pair it up with a colorful watch or bracelet.

From the edgier looks to the flannel looks to the more sophisticated looks, you can do it all in fall.
