Students prepare for mid-term exams

Students at Ludlow High School will take mid-term exams Jan. 17-20. Midterms account for 7.5% of students’ final grade (final exams make up the remain 7.5%) and some students say that is making them nervous.

“I don’t like them because they scare me…. I don’t know if I’m going to do well,”  said freshman Rachel Goodrow.

Goodrow said her method for studying for the series of upcoming tests is that she goes through notes and highlights what she doesn’t know and goes over it when she has time.

Other students take the same approach as Goodrow.

“I go over graphic organizers the teacher gave me and other work,” said freshman Autumn Haggerty.

Haggerty also said that she’s not a big fan of taking tests but liked that the test taking days were half days, and that after a few hours of testing she could have some time to herself.

Students can leave school when exams end at 10:55. According to Principal Lisa Nemeth, students are not allowed to leave a class early if they finish their exam before the end of class.

“I hope my studying pays off,” stated Haggerty.
